Glow powders and glow pigments are available as premium glow powders and professional night glow powders since they have been produced on the basis of strontium aluminate. This has significantly increased colour intensity, duration of effect and durability. Depending on the colour and mixture as well as the carrier substance, they have a glow duration of up to 12 hours. The colour particles are recharged by light, preferably UV radiation but also artificial light. They therefore do not consume themselves, but retain their effect for up to 15 years. The particle size of our pigments is usually around 55-75 micrometres, which corresponds to the diameter of a human hair. The colours range from blue, yellow and green to violet. Fluorescent materials are used almost everywhere in everyday life, for example when house numbers and escape route markings are to glow at night. In children's rooms, they make objects glow. Glowing paint is most widely used in arts and jewellery crafts, as well as in handicrafts and decorating.
Another important sector is the manufacturing industry. Varnishers, painters, typesetters and printers like to mix the noctilucent substances with colourless carrier fluids and binders. These can be resin or epoxy resin, varnish, wax or gel. For indoor use, solvent-free carriers or wallpaper paste are recommended. For outdoors, weather-resistant and solvent-based binders, for example synthetic resin varnishes, have proved successful. To bring out the greatest effect, the carrier liquids or carrier substances should be thick and as transparent as possible.
