Glitter glow paint Blue-Green comes ready-mixed: stir, apply, charge with light – and the design glows in the dark without electricity. During the day the fine effect glitter shimmers in the light; in the dark the paint glows a calm blue-green. Blue-green is one of the strongest-glowing shades of our glow in the dark paints.

Typical uses are star designs on walls and ceilings, pictures on canvas, painted stones and decorations, and markings on light switches and stair edges for orientation in the dark.

Properties

  • Colour: light in daylight, whitish with a slight green tint and glitter, blue-green in the dark
  • Afterglow duration: up to 12 hours after a full charge, in complete darkness; slightly weaker due to the glitter, at its most intense in the first few minutes
  • Ready to use: acrylic paint based on our strontium aluminate glow pigments, with fine effect glitter
  • Surfaces: paper, cardboard, wallpaper, canvas, wood, rubber, stone and glass
  • Charging: with daylight or lamp light, as often as you like; fastest with UV light or sunlight
  • Origin: Made in Germany

How to use the glow in the dark paint

  1. Stir the paint thoroughly, including at the bottom of the bottle – the glow pigments settle.
  2. Paint absorbent surfaces such as wallpaper, paper or wood directly. Prime smooth surfaces first; prime dark surfaces in a light colour – ideally white.
  3. Apply with a brush, sponge or roller. Paint larger areas with a soft roller in 2–3 coats; let each coat dry before the next.
  4. Several thin coats glow more strongly than one thick coat. For a smoother surface, thin the paint slightly with water – thinning it more reduces the glow.
  5. Clean brushes and rollers with water afterwards and close the bottle tightly.

Tip: The paint is not weather-resistant. Outdoors and on furniture in everyday use, seal the dried layer with a solvent-based clear varnish. It also adheres to fabric and leather; wash textiles at no more than 30 °C.

What's included

1 resealable bottle containing 100 g (approx. 90 ml) of glitter glow paint Blue-Green.

Good to know

Afterglow is an aid for orientation and effects, not lighting: it is visible in real darkness, barely under a street lamp. The ready-mixed paint is too thick for casting resin and pouring – use our glow pigments for that. You will find the safety data sheet (lumentics glow paste, also applies to the glow in the dark paints) in the downloads on this page.

Frequently asked questions

How long does blue-green glow compared with other colours?
Blue-green is in the strongest-glowing group and glows for up to 12 hours – after a full charge, in complete darkness. It is at its most intense in the first few minutes and turns into a faint glimmer after 1–2 hours. Tinted shades such as orange, pink or blue glow for a shorter time and more weakly. In a thin layer the paint glows for slightly less time than the pure pigment.
How many coats do I need?
For an even glow, two to three thin coats, ideally with a soft roller on larger areas. Each additional coat strengthens the effect. A light or white-primed surface glows much more strongly than a dark one.
Can I use the paint outdoors?
Yes, with protection: the paint itself is not weather-resistant. Coat the dried layer with a solvent-based clear varnish. Outdoors the glow is only visible where it is truly dark.
Can I use the glow in the dark paint in epoxy resin or for pouring?
The ready-mixed paint is not suitable for this; it is too thick. For resin and pouring medium, it is better to use our glow pigments, which you stir in directly.
Can you see the glitter in the dark too?
The glitter is an effect for daylight: it shimmers when light falls on it. In the dark you see the afterglow of the glow pigments; because of the glitter it is slightly weaker than with the same paint without glitter.
