On this sturdy, glow-in-the-dark A4 board you paint, draw or write with focused UV light, such as a UV torch. The areas you light up glow green in the dark. After approx. 1–2 hours the picture has faded and the board is ready for the next design.

Properties

  • Format: A4, sturdy plastic board, approx. 2 mm thick
  • Glow colour: green
  • Afterglow duration: approx. 1–2 hours after a full charge in complete darkness
  • Drawing with light: with focused UV light, e.g. a UV torch
  • Reusable: can be drawn on again and again, entirely without electricity

How to draw with light

  1. Darken the room and wait until the board no longer glows.
  2. Paint, draw or write with the UV torch held close to the board. The longer the light stays on one spot, the brighter it glows.
  3. Switch off the light and look at the picture. After approx. 1–2 hours it has faded and you can start again.

What's included

1 glow board A4, lamp not included.

Good to know

If the board lies in a bright room, it charges across its entire surface and glows as a whole – so work in the dark when drawing. The board is supplied without a lamp; a UV torch with a focused beam, for example 400 nm, works well. A normal white torch charges the board only very inefficiently. Never shine UV light into the eyes. Craft and art supplies, not a toy.

Frequently asked questions

Which lamp do I need?
Ideally a UV torch with a focused beam. For example 400 nm. The board is supplied without a lamp.
Does it work with a normal torch?
Only very inefficiently. Very bright white light can also charge the pigments, but focused UV light, such as a 400 nm UV torch, is what works for drawing.
How long does a picture stay visible?
Approx. 1–2 hours in complete darkness. It is at its most intense right after drawing, then gradually fades.
Can I use the board again and again?
Yes. The board can be charged with light and drawn on as often as you like.

Downloads & safety

Not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years. Do not break or cut the board – broken edges can be sharp. Do not swallow small parts or fragments. Do not scratch off the glow in the dark coating.
