At approx. 150 µm, the SuperPremium powder has our coarsest particle size – and is the most strongly glowing pigment in our range. By day it is whitish, in the dark it glows green. It is made for casting resin, resin tables and resin art, where the pigment lies in thicker layers.

Properties

  • Material: strontium aluminate doped with europium and dysprosium, with a protective coating – making it water-resistant
  • Particle size: approx. 150 µm – our coarsest particle size (standard natural shades: approx. 70–85 µm)
  • Colour: whitish by day, green in the dark
  • Afterglow duration: up to 12 hours after a full charge in complete darkness; the most strongly glowing pigment in our range
  • Charging: with any light source, fastest with UV light or sunlight (a few minutes)
  • Heat-resistant: the pure pigment withstands up to 1,200 °C
  • Classification: not classified as hazardous under CLP – see safety data sheet

How to use the SuperPremium powder

The pigment does not dissolve; instead, it is stirred into a carrier: epoxy and casting resin, clear varnish, acrylic paint, glue, paste, wax or silicone. As a starting value we recommend approx. 20% pigment, relative to the carrier material; in opaque carriers such as white wall paint, rather 30–50%. Test the mixture on a small sample first.

  • Ideal for casting resin, resin tables and resin art, for scattering and for thicker layers.
  • The particle size is too coarse for fine brushwork, airbrush, screen printing or thin varnish layers – our finer pigments are suitable for those.
  • The more transparent and lighter the carrier, the stronger the glow. Prime dark surfaces in a light colour first.
  • In thin resin the pigment sinks: let the resin thicken briefly, then stir it in.
  • You can also sprinkle the powder onto adhesive surfaces such as glue, wax or paste, or apply it in clear varnish with an airbrush.
  • Outdoors, use weatherproof clear varnishes or epoxy.

What's included

40 g SuperPremium glow powder Natural Green (150 µm) in a resealable poly bag.

Good to know

The coarse particle size glows most strongly, but is too coarse for many applications: in thin layers and fine lines, the grains remain visible or are difficult to distribute. Coarse grains sink faster in thin resin. Afterglow is an orientation and effect aid, not lighting: it becomes visible in real darkness, but hardly under a street lamp. Colours look different in photos depending on the camera and charging. The raw pigment is not a toy. When processing larger quantities, avoid dust and contact with skin and eyes.

Frequently asked questions

What does the coarse 150 µm particle size do?
A larger grain stores more light and glows more strongly afterwards. That is why the 150 µm pigments are our most strongly glowing. The downside: they are too coarse for fine brushwork, airbrush or screen printing.
What is the SuperPremium powder suitable for?
For casting resin, resin tables, resin art and objects where the pigment lies in a thicker layer or is scattered. For thin varnish layers and fine lines, it is better to choose a pigment with a finer particle size.
How do I stop the pigment sinking in the resin?
Let the resin thicken briefly until it is a little thicker, then stir in the pigment. Alternatively, add the pigment to a top layer only. Air bubbles can be removed with hot air.
How much glow powder do I need?
As a starting value, approx. 20% relative to the carrier material – so about 20 g for 100 ml of varnish. In opaque carriers such as white wall paint, 30–50%. 40 g is therefore enough for around 200 ml of clear carrier. Test the mixture on a small sample first.
What charges the powder and how long does it take?
Any light source. Guide values for a full charge: UV light from 365 nm 2–4 minutes, sunlight 6–9 minutes, fluorescent lamp 20–24 minutes, incandescent bulb about 25 minutes. After that it glows at its strongest and gradually weakens.
Are the pigments radioactive?
No – like all modern glow pigments. The glow comes solely from stored light.
