Two effects in one powder: in daylight the fine glitter sparkles, in the dark the pigment glows blue-green. By day the powder is light and whitish with a slight green tint, so it suits almost any surface. Suitable for decoration, resin art, nail design and starry skies on the bedroom ceiling.

Properties

  • Material: mixture of fine, transparent glitter and glow pigment based on strontium aluminate; insoluble in water
  • Afterglow duration: up to 12 hours after a full charge in complete darkness; slightly weaker than pure pigment because of the glitter content
  • Colour: light by day, whitish with a slight green tint; blue-green in the dark
  • Particle size: approx. 75–120 µm (1 µm = one thousandth of a millimetre)
  • Heat-resistant: up to 150 °C
  • Classification: not classified as hazardous under CLP – see safety data sheet

How to use the glitter powder

Stir the powder into a colourless carrier such as epoxy or casting resin, clear varnish, gel, wax, wallpaper paste or glue. As a starting point we recommend approx. 20% powder relative to the carrier (10–50%). The higher the proportion, the stronger the glow. Test the mixture on a small sample first.

  • You can also sprinkle the powder directly onto sticky or absorbent surfaces.
  • The more transparent and lighter the carrier, the stronger the glow. Prime dark surfaces in a light colour first.
  • For outdoor use, use weather-resistant binders such as synthetic resin varnish; indoors, solvent-free carriers such as clear varnish or wallpaper paste are suitable.

What's included

50 g glitter powder blue-green in a poly bag.

Good to know

Because of the glitter content, the powder glows slightly more weakly than pure pigment – but it sparkles by day. Afterglow is an effect, not a light source: it becomes visible in real darkness. Not a toy. Avoid dust and contact with skin and eyes when processing.

Frequently asked questions

How do I apply the glitter powder?
Either stir it into a colourless carrier such as resin, clear varnish, gel or glue – starting point approx. 20% – or sprinkle it directly onto a sticky or absorbent surface. Test on a small sample first.
Does glitter powder glow as strongly as pure glow powder?
Slightly less, because part of the mixture is glitter, which does not glow. In return, the powder sparkles in daylight. For maximum afterglow, pure glow powder is the better choice.
What charges the powder and how long does it take?
With any light source. Guide values for a full charge: UV light from 365 nm 2–4 minutes, sun 6–9 minutes, fluorescent lamp 20–24 minutes, incandescent bulb about 25 minutes. After that it glows most intensely and gradually becomes weaker.
