Glow stones are broken stone pieces that store light during the day and release it in the dark – without electricity, cables or batteries. Blue-green is a popular alternative to green: slightly cooler in tone and also strongly glowing. They can lie loose in a bed or pot or be worked into concrete, resin and terrazzo.
Properties
- Shape: irregularly broken stone pieces, approx. 2 cm each
- Material: based on strontium aluminate
- Afterglow duration: usually more than 8 hours after a full charge in complete darkness
- Charging: with daylight or artificial light, as often as you like; just a few seconds to minutes are enough, UV light is the fastest
- Use: indoors and outdoors
- Classification: not classified as hazardous under CLP
How to use the glow stones
- Loose as decoration: in garden gravel, flowerpots, planters, vases, rock beds or along paths.
- In resin: embed in epoxy or casting resin, for example for bowls, tabletops or decorative objects.
- Concrete, terrazzo, stair treads: press into the still-wet surface and sand flush after curing – mixed into the compound, the stones disappear. Alternatively, embed them in a transparent, walk-on layer.
- Outdoors: choose a spot that gets enough light during the day.
What's included

Good to know
Afterglow is an aid for orientation and effect, not lighting: it becomes visible in real darkness, but hardly under a street lamp. The stones are not a toy.
